We’re going to have a baby!

How do people prepare for having a baby? Besides eating and sleeping a lot I also enjoy reading other peoples pregnancy and birth stories. It’s amazing how many different methods of delivery there are! The hospital here in Brattleboro just finished a brand new birthing center where woman can go through labor, the birth, and recovery all in the same room. They have whirlpool tubs for labor and water births. There are also showers, birthing balls. Who could ask for anything more? Um, except maybe all that for free! :D

Remember how I got my dress and veil online? I thought it’d be nifty if I were able to do something like that for the baby. Wouldn’t it be cool to have an ebay baby? Totally! So about a week ago I went on ebay and looked under their Baby section. Oh boy! Super awesome finds! And of course I couldn’t resist. I’ve bought maternity clothes, lots of baby clothes, a baby carrier, and a beautiful crib bedding set (I don’t know if that link will work, but thought I’d try). I’m hoping to get a crib last minute, like a month ahead of time. We have very little room where we’re living now but I’m sure things will work out somehow. As for Darren, he’s been buying lots of camera stuff. He says that he must have a really good one before the baby comes! Heh. I suppose we have to follow in Dor’s path and take reams of pictures of Bethany Anne (or Dylan Dale). :P Pictures or not, I think that I’m looking forward to having a little person to spend my days with.

But, Laurie-Lou… have you realized that if her name was Bethany Anne her initials would be BAH? Oh, BAH! That silly baby! :P If you gave her a middle initial that was a consonant, it would be more elegant. Like… BHH (Hope or something), BFH (Faith? over-used, I know), BNH/BMH, or even BLH (maybe Laura or Lee, like Cadet). Bethany Elizabeth sounds WAY lovely, but then you’ve got BEH…not so bad as BAH, though, I guess. I don’t know. Do you think people–besides me, hehe–would notice the BAH, or that it would matter? :P

    Hi, Laura,
Yes, it will be wonderful to welcome a little one into you and Darren’s lives. May the Lord bless you as you train up him/her in the ways of the Lord.
    Love, Mom
    P.S.- I’m glad you’re having fun getting ready for baby’s arrival. :)

    Thanks, Biddy!
T, Yep, I did notice the “BAH” bit of Bethany Anne. Philip hasn’t gotten into too much trouble for being “PET” so it can’t be such a bad thing!
    Mama, thanks.
