Cornchips at Midnight

Deeder is napping with Darren right now. It’s so cute! I’d take a picture, but it might wake Mr. Deeds and I’m not sure how Darren would feel about having a picture of himself in bed published on the internet!

The little Deeder would not go to sleep last night. Well, he did go to sleep. Around 11 though he woke up. You’d think he were waking up from a morning nap. He was bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready for some kind of active adventure.
We thought maybe he was hungry. I tried some cereal, when that was turned away I tried apple sauce, then yogurt. No no and no! I took him out of his chair and tried to nurse him. NO!
Finally I set him on the floor. He walked over to the hutch where I keep the snacks and pointed up. I lifted him to see what he was after. He pointed at the corn chips. Corn chips?
I took down the container and removed the lid. He reached his hand in and grabbed one. A big smile of appreciation spread over his face. He was happy then with that cornchip. Again and again his hand went into the container to take another out. Darren asked if I always feed Deeder that way! Nope. I have no idea where he got the cornchip idea or the impression that he can just point out and eat whatever he wants.

Anyway, then he wanted to sit on the floor and play with his shapes toys. He did a very good job putting the shapes in the corresponding holes which they fit. Once full he would empty out the bucket of shapes and do it over again. This went on for an hour.
I went to bed and Darren stayed downstairs with Deeder until the little boy started yawning.

Two in the morning Deeder was in his crib fast asleep. That didn’t postpone his morning waking time by one single minute. He was up exactly at the same hour he is most days.

Do note that we only let him downstairs after he’d been crying relentlessly for a very long time upstairs. We’d get him nearly to sleep, within no time at all he’d be crying all over again.

My guess is that he was just too congested to be comfortable laying down.

Speaking of uncomfortable–boy is it cold here! Man! I was freezing this morning, I miss the summer warmth already.

Off for now, I hear movement upstairs. Sorry no pictures! Maybe later.
